A number of buildings on the WNMU campus, including Hunter Hall, Fleming Hall, Light Hall and Bowden Hall, were renovated to create new student and administration spaces and to bring existing facilities into ADA compliance. Under the previous firm of ASA Architects, designer and project manager, Ray Vigil, worked in close collaboration with the Historic Preservation Division of the New Mexico Office of Cultural Affairs to ensure that any new design and construction work maintained the historic integrity of each building.

The renovation of the WNMU Student Center/Miller Library was awarded the 1999 “Best Buildings for Renovations” by AGC and the New Mexico Business Journal.
